Chile y Su Revolución de Júpiter de 2024: ¿Transformación en el Sistema Legal?

Chile and its Jupiter Revolution of 2024: Transformation in the Legal System?

In this second post about Chile, we will explore the possible situations that could occur in the medium term in the face of the current crisis facing the country, marked by the scandal of the Audios Case and the growing internal tensions. A key element to understand this panorama is that Chile began a new Jupiter Revolution on May 31, 2024 , which marks the beginning of a new cycle of approximately 12 years. A Jupiter Revolution signals a period of potential expansion, improvement, and growth; but if the energies are not managed correctly, what can expand are difficulties (Jupiter expands anything , whether good or bad). Jupiter is the planet associated with politics, justice, improvement, and opportunities, so this new revolution opens the doors to significant changes for the country. However, the true impact of this cycle will depend on how Chile manages the challenges it faces, and how these intertwine with other planetary transits that will influence the coming years .

The Jupiter Revolution of 2012: Key Themes

Planetary revolutions are always linked , as each new cycle takes the themes and lessons from the previous cycle to push or transform them. To understand what Chile could experience in this Jupiter Revolution that began on May 31, 2024, it is crucial to look at what happened during the Jupiter Revolution of 2012 , as the themes that arose at that time are directly connected to what the country will face in this new cycle.

Chile's previous Jupiter Revolution occurred on June 17, 2012. That year, Chile was going through several significant events and controversies affecting both its political and social landscape. One of the most prominent issues was the tension with the Mapuche communities in the south of the country. During that year, tensions with that indigenous people (particularly in the Araucanía region) continued to escalate, with clashes related to land claims . The government applied the anti-terrorism law , prompting criticism for the excessive use of this legislation in conflicts involving common crimes, such as arson. This handling of the conflict was questioned both nationally and internationally.

In economic terms, Chile continued to benefit from its booming mining sector , especially from high copper prices. However, the government of then-President Sebastián Piñera faced protests and social discontent, particularly over issues of inequality and the demands of the student movement, which continued to call for more inclusive educational reform.

On the other hand, prison conditions in Chile were a cause for concern, especially after a tragic fire at San Miguel prison in 2010, which exposed the poor conditions in prisons. Although there was some progress in legislation to improve the situation of prisoners, the Chilean prison system was still in crisis in 2012.

In the Jupiter Revolution of 2012 , Jupiter itself was in the 5th house , which rules issues such as public morality, youth and their education, but also the upper class of a society . This means that the focus of the country's expansion and growth during that cycle was centered on those areas. In addition, Jupiter was conjunct the South Node , indicating that Chile was facing situations from the past, possibly of a karmic nature, that needed to be addressed and overcome.

Thus, tensions between past and future, especially around the power structure and the role of elites , were evident. The conjunction with the South Node reinforces this idea that unresolved issues about the role of the privileged classes and their relationship to social morality may have re-emerged, demanding a re-evaluation of their influence and responsibilities.

This setup also meant that any unresolved issues at the time, whether in terms of education, youth, or the role of the upper classes in public morality, could become relevant again in the new Jupiter revolution, connecting the lessons of 2012 to Chile's current challenges.

Confusing Communication

On the other hand, the square of that Jupiter in the 5th house to Neptune in the 3rd house - which rules communication and public discourse - symbolized a challenge for the country when it came to facing truth and transparency , since Neptune tends to create illusions or confusion. This aspect reflects how, in the midst of tensions at different levels, the government faced criticism for its handling of communication in the problems that plagued the country. The square indicates that the expansion of Jupiter in the 5th house, which could have brought greater awareness or moral evolution in society, was blocked or distorted by the Neptunian fog of confusion and lack of clarity in public communication .

This aspect also connects with the social unrest that Chile experienced in 2012, with the student movement demanding reforms . Demands for more inclusive education align with the theme of the 5th house (youth and public morality), while confusion around government responses may have been amplified by the tension between Jupiter and Neptune. This also reflects the feeling that promises of reform (Jupiter) were neither clear nor satisfactory , due to the distortion represented by Neptune in the 3rd house.

Transformation and Belligerence

Also, in this revolution Pluto was in close conjunction with the Capricorn Ascendant , which provided a chance for profound transformation to the country. This aspect suggests an immense potential to change the legal, political and structural system of Chile , with a focus on seriousness, discipline and the need to take concrete actions. Capricorn, as an earth sign, adds a tone of responsibility and method to these transformative processes.

However, Pluto was in exact square to Uranus in the 4th house in Aries , amplifying tensions related to the territorial and social conflict in the country. Uranus in Aries not only symbolises innovation and radical changes in the country’s roots and identity (house 4), but is also associated with struggle, conflict and, in this context, the use of force . This configuration is closely linked to the application of the anti-terrorist law against the Mapuche people, a measure that received harsh criticism for the repression of their territorial claims. Aries also rules armies and direct action, so this square suggests a constant tension between the need for structural transformation (Pluto) and the repressive or militarised response (Uranus in Aries in the 4th house) , which has perpetuated the conflict without offering lasting solutions.

With this background, we proceed to analyze the current Jupiter revolution.

The Jupiter revolution that began on May 31, 2024 (and will last until June 15, 2036) gives Chile a new opportunity to rethink the situations that were not resolved in the previous revolution and get back on track .

Two Unexpected: Pending Work

In this new revolution, Capricorn Ascendant – just like in the previous one – once again underlines the need to approach challenges with discipline, structure and responsibility. Most notably, however, the ruler of this ascendant, Saturn, is unaspected in the 4th house in Pisces. In astrology, unaspected planets represent energies that have been neglected for a long time, so they tend to manifest themselves more autonomously and powerfully in order to finally be integrated . Without the support or modification of other planets, unaspected Saturn becomes a dominant theme during this revolution, with an influence that is difficult to integrate and manage if a conscious effort is not made to address it.

In addition to Saturn, Mars is also unaspected in the 4th house, but in Aries. With two unaspected planets in the 4th house, this indicates that there are multiple pending issues related to land, natural resources, agriculture, mining, housing, and the country's security . This will be a central axis in the Jupiter revolution 2024-2036.

The energies of Mars and Saturn are connected with the military, government power structures, and issues related to violence and restrictions. Unaspected Mars can act out of control at times, which could increase territorial conflicts or aggravate the internal security situation and the problem with organized crime .

The energies of Pisces and Aries will be predominant during the next 12 years due to the unaspectedness of both planets in these signs. In its highest aspect, Pisces can guide Chile towards greater clarity, allowing it to eliminate the superfluous and focus on what is really important, connecting the country with its most transcendent values . On the other hand, Aries, on its positive side, encourages one to act proactively and face problems with courage and determination, avoiding inaction.

However, if Chile's unresolved lessons from the past are not integrated, Saturn in Pisces could manifest as confusion, evasion, and a lack of direction , hampering the country's ability to find clear solutions. Mars in Aries, on its negative side, could intensify frustration, impatience, and aggression , creating a climate of tension and confrontation rather than effective mobilization. If left unresolved, these energies could further aggravate the social and political conflicts Chile is facing.

Jupiter in the 6th House: The Focus Changes

In this revolution, Jupiter is in the 6th house, indicating that the focus of expansion will be on issues related to public health, the working class, and the people in general . The 6th house also governs working conditions , the workforce , and public officials , so during this cycle, Chile has the opportunity to generate significant changes in the way these essential areas for the population are managed.

In addition, Jupiter in the 6th house forms a trine to Pluto in the 2nd House , creating a harmonious aspect between growth in the workplace and health, and the potential for economic transformation in the country. Pluto in the 2nd House speaks of a regeneration or transformation of the economy, which combined with Jupiter's expansive potential, could allow Chile to translate its improved finances into reforms and improvements in the workforce and health system, and vice versa .

Challenge: Acting as if nothing is happening

While this Jupiter revolution presents great potential for expansion and transformation, there is one alarming factor that cannot be ignored: the complete absence of dynamic aspects between the planets . All the aspects that are formed are trines and sextiles , which instead of generating tension, soften the energy, allowing it to flow harmoniously. However, these aspects do not generate the urgency or drive necessary to confront and resolve the structural and social problems facing Chile. This can lead to a passive approach , in which the country continues to move forward without directly confronting the issues that require profound change.

Let us keep in mind that in the birth chart of Chile, the ascendant conjunct Saturn reflects a strong desire for control and to stick to known structures , while Neptune, also conjunct the ascendant, indicates a tendency to evade reality or create an illusion of normality (see this information in the previous entry on Chile, here ). In this context, the lack of tense aspects, such as squares or oppositions, in this revolution, could tip the balance towards the country clinging to old structures, avoiding confronting the problems that are beneath the surface . Thus, there is a latent risk that problems will continue to accumulate, remaining unresolved under a facade of calm.

What Story Do the 2024-2026 Transits Tell?

2024-2025: Uranus in Taurus Square Mars in Leo

For now, the first important transit that Chile is already experiencing is the square of Uranus to Mars, an aspect that began in July 2024 and will extend until April 2025. This transit is extremely volatile and is related to the release of accumulated tensions in areas ruled by Mars , such as the military, security, and the violence that has been present in the country. Uranus, which always brings surprises and sudden changes, comes to release certain issues that have been trapped in old dynamics, especially around the armed forces and the use of force in the country's security.

This square reflects the collective feeling of frustration and dissatisfaction , manifesting in impulsive and explosive reactions , such as those Chile is currently experiencing. However, the lesson of this transit is to learn to channel aggression and frustration in a constructive way, allowing the country to free itself from old patterns that no longer resonate with current needs . The positive potential of Uranus square Mars is to push towards a transformation that releases tensions and allows progress towards greater freedom and modernization of structures.

However, this is a complicated transit because Mars is in Leo, a fixed sign, and squares in fixed signs are particularly difficult . Fixed signs don't like change , and considering that Chile already has a conservative tendency (represented by Saturn conjunct the ascendant), it's possible that the country will resist the onslaught of this transit . Rather than seize the opportunity to transform areas ruled by Mars, such as security and the military, Chile might choose to endure the tension without making significant changes, hoping that the turbulence will pass without taking action.

July 2025: Uranus in Gemini conjunct the Moon and Jupiter

On July 7, 2025, Uranus will enter Gemini , marking one of the most important transits that Chile will experience in the coming years. This transit is significant because Uranus will form an exact conjunction with the Moon and Jupiter in Chile's birth chart. Having the ascendant in Sagittarius, Jupiter is the ruler of the chart, which gives special importance to this transit. Uranus by transit in conjunction with the Moon generates a strong impulse for the country to deeply rethink where it wants to direct its future, reviewing the real needs of the population and questioning legal and communication structures.

With this transit in Gemini, the sign associated with communication and the exchange of ideas, it is possible that Chile will experience a period of greater openness to listening to the voices of the population , as Uranus brings innovation and radical changes. This could be a propitious moment to reflect on social demands and the way in which the country communicates with its people , questioning the legal system and the role that the media and information play in Chilean society.

However, while this transit may bring an expansion of discontent and a greater visibility of unmet needs in the population , it may not lead to deep or immediate change . This is because it will not be accompanied by other tense aspects that generate the pressure necessary for significant transformation . Although Uranus conjunct Jupiter and the Moon may indicate an emotionally volatile period with great protest, the lack of more tense aspects could lead to tensions manifesting without materializing into structural changes.

August 2026: Uranus Conjunction Descending

In August 2026, Uranus will conjunct Chile’s descendant, which could theoretically mark the beginning of major changes in the country’s relations, both internal and external . The descendant, which rules alliances and oppositions, suggests that new dynamics could emerge in the way Chile interacts with other actors, whether political, social or international. Uranus, known for bringing unexpected changes and ruptures, could trigger transformations in these areas.

However, this possible change will be accompanied by a factor that could slow down the process : Saturn in transit in Aries, will be in opposition to natal Mercury in Chile . Saturn is a planet that limits and structures, and its influence tends to act as a brake on impulses of rapid or sudden change . Mercury, ruler of Gemini and therefore of the planets that will be transited by Uranus in the descendant, will be influenced by this opposition of Saturn, which indicates a more cautious and conservative approach.

This antagonism between Uranus (change and revolution) and Saturn (caution and restriction) suggests that, although changes could occur, they are unlikely to be structural or fundamental. Saturn's influence, limiting Mercury's ability to act quickly and adapt, introduces a tension that could prevent the changes that Uranus proposes from fully materializing. This reinforces the idea that, although Chile may experience adjustments and transformations, deep and structural evolution could still be further away than these transits initially suggest.
