New Moon in Sagittarius, December 1, 2024. Software: Moon
A New Beginning in a Very Changing Landscape
We are going through an extremely unstable astrological climate (check out the December astrological climate at this link ). The external, which used to give us certainty, no longer offers us the same security . With the definitive passage of Pluto from Capricorn to Aquarius, that idea of a “ change of era ” that we heard constantly and that had almost become a slogan, is no longer just words. Now we are living it, and we realize that it is a tangible reality: an evident end that we are feeling deeply.
Capricorn offered us concrete structures, while Aquarius takes us towards the intangible and the uncertain, forcing us to confront the instability of the material. In this context, this New Moon in Sagittarius appears: a moment that, although it represents beginnings and new intentions, invites us to sow them with humility and flexibility, accepting that the outcome will be uncertain since we are redefining our relationship with the tangible.
The Fire Element: Returning to the Core of Things
It is no coincidence that the element that precedes earth in the zodiac wheel is fire . If we are in the process of redefining our relationship with the tangible world, with that which we considered stable and permanent but which is now falling apart, we need to take a couple of steps back . That’s right, back to the fire. Fire is the spirit, the vitality, the passion . It is what allows us to visualize something from within, from the center of our being, from our heart . That passion is the spark that permeates everything we do: our actions, our projects, our words. It is that moment of inspiration that later becomes a work of art, an idea made reality, or a meaningful conversation. At this moment, the Universe gives us the opportunity to reconnect with that inner fire – with our spirit – so that what we later manifest in the tangible is much more authentic and aligned with our essence; since little by little we will have done the titanic task of redefining our relationship with the material (but the latter is in the long term. There are many other astrological transits in the coming years that will accompany us in this mission).

Sagittarius: Vision, Expansion, Sense
Sagittarius is a fire sign, and within the three signs of this element (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius), it represents the most subtle and ethereal dimension of fire. Why? Because Sagittarius is not limited to the immediate action of Aries or the creative force of Leo; its fire is related to the expansion of our tangible possibilities through the internal visualization of what we can become . Sagittarius invites us to go beyond what is known, to expand our mind, our experiences and our consciousness. It is an abstract and transformative fire that ignites the imagination : the spark that shows us how things could be and drives us to pursue something that deeply transforms us.
The fire of Sagittarius is all about the flexibility to embark on adventures that lead to change , though those adventures aren’t always external. Sagittarius transforms imagination into action and purpose, and this New Moon asks us to connect with that capacity for transformation, but from an internal place . While it might manifest as a journey or a course we sign up for, the main change likely needs to happen within us first . This is reinforced because Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius, is retrograde during this lunation. It’s a time to reevaluate our possibilities.
Opposition with Jupiter Retrograde
This Full Moon is in opposition to Jupiter retrograde in Gemini (17°09'). As mentioned above, Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius and therefore of this lunation as well. Its retrograde motion tells us that this Sagittarian fire is not for immediate action, but for deep reflection. It invites us to be honest with ourselves: what are our most authentic intentions? What vision really resonates with our deepest purpose? It is a slow process, where the answers will not come immediately.
In addition, the ruler of this Jupiter - Mercury - is also in Sagittarius, retrograding. This mutual reception (i.e. the rulers of two signs exchanged with each other) between Jupiter in Gemini and Mercury in Sagittarius reinforces the introspective nature of this lunation. Here we are faced with the need to rethink something into which we had put a lot of energy and enthusiasm . This process is likely to involve disillusionment : a goal, a project or an idea that we believed to be aligned with our identity and purpose, but which we now see more clearly does not lead to true expansion.
The opposition to Jupiter suggests that this awareness may be motivated by something external. Oppositions often symbolize dynamics that we perceive outside of ourselves, and in this case, it may be a circumstance or situation that is not working out as we expected . Perhaps something we had placed our hopes on is not coming to fruition, forcing us to look inward. This lesson shows us that true expansion does not come from the external, but from an internal change. This New Moon asks us to redirect our fire toward our personal transformation, leaving external expectations behind to find more authentic growth aligned with our essence.
Trine with Mars in Leo
This New Moon forms a trine to Mars, which is still direct in Leo before turning retrograde . Leo is -like Sagittarius- a fire sign. This trine gives us the courage to, even in the midst of confusion, limitations and external changes, direct our energy towards an authentic vision aligned with our essence . It invites us to connect with the Sagittarian imagination, to visualize what we want for our future without letting ourselves be conditioned by the tangible or the external that could block our path.
Mars in Leo adds an energy that will be of great help to us: the courage to stand up for what we really want , to say firmly this is what I want, this is what I am passionate about, and this is the path I want to follow . Leo, as a fixed sign (that is, slow and methodical), reminds us that authenticity and courage are not built overnight. This process requires time, patience, and persistence. Furthermore, fire does not seek external approval; its purpose is not to please everyone, but to boost our personal potential. This trine leads us to question: is it really important that what I do pleases everyone, or is it more important that I am true to myself?
This lunation, supported by Mars in Leo, invites us to cultivate this authenticity with perseverance and courage . If we do not betray ourselves and keep our eyes on our vision, this New Moon can become the starting point for a profound transformation and authentic growth, the value of which will be incalculable.
Square to Saturn in Pisces
This lunation also forms a square to Saturn in Pisces, an aspect that will be exact three days after the New Moon and that we will feel intensely. Saturn represents external limitations, obstacles and unfulfilled expectations, showing us a reality that does not yet vibrate in tune with the internal vision we are creating. This square acts as a trigger that forces us to develop conviction: the internal certainty that, although externally the results are not immediate, we can sustain our vision with patience and determination.
The New Moon's trine to Mars is what connects us with courage, with that inner strength that drives us to move forward despite the difficulties. But it is Saturn - through this square - who challenges us to strengthen that courage and manifest it in our lives despite external limitations . It is the necessary push to say: it does not matter that this has not yet manifested itself externally, I am going to work on believing in it, I am going to build it from within . This construction process is not born from favorable external conditions, but from our conviction and our fidelity to what we really want.
Thus, this square reminds us that true transformations take place within. It challenges us to sustain our vision with discipline and commitment, developing a solid internal structure that is capable of sustaining the reality we seek to manifest in the future. Although uncomfortable, this square is an opportunity to cultivate the resilience and confidence necessary to turn our passion into a tangible reality.
Corresponding Sabian Symbol: Sagittarius 10, "A Goddess of Opportunity, With Golden Hair."
(Don't you know what Sabian symbols are? Read the complete guide here )
This New Moon in Sagittarius, located at 09°32', has as its corresponding Sabian symbol for Sagittarius 10: " a goddess of opportunity with golden hair." If we think about it, an opportunity is the possibility of improvement. When we have managed to improve in one or several situations, we say that we have been successful. Thus, this symbol invites us to reflect on the true meaning of success, not as something external and predefined, but as a process that arises from within us.
This Sabian symbol resonates deeply with the meaning of the fire element, which we spoke about earlier: an enthusiasm and fulfillment that comes from within, from our subjectivity, our choices and our character. It invites us to redefine success as an expression of our authenticity, not as something dictated by external factors that often do not resonate with our essence.
This is where the square to Saturn in Pisces comes into its own. This aspect confronts us with an external reality that is often not aligned with our internal vision of success. If we constantly base our idea of success on what comes from outside, we end up giving our authenticity and power away to circumstances that do not feed our spirit. Not only does this extinguish our inner fire and limit our ability to imagine new possibilities, but it also keeps us from the fulfillment that only comes from expressing who we truly are.
This New Moon asks us to reconnect with our inner spirit and enthusiasm. It is from this connection that we can transform our relationship with the tangible and the external. We learn to differentiate between what success really means to us and what the world tries to impose as such. Letting go of these external definitions, which never fully satisfy, allows us to find authentic abundance . This lunation represents precisely that opportunity: to redefine success from our essence, from our passion, and manifest it in a life truly aligned with us. It doesn't have to be taking 9 trips abroad a year, or having a Rolex, or being famous or all those things that we often pursue without even asking ourselves if they will really make us happier.

Questions to Reflect On:
• What does success mean to me?
Reflect on whether your concept of success is aligned with your internal values or whether it has been influenced by external expectations.
• Am I living my life from enthusiasm?
Think about whether the decisions you have made recently are connected to what you are passionate about or whether they have been guided by a search for material stability that does not fully satisfy you.
• Am I clinging too much to the tangible?
Consider whether your focus on what can be seen on the material plane (money, status, external recognition, etc.) has weakened your connection to what you truly desire and who you are at your core.
• What internal vision of success do I want to manifest?
Explore whether you have a clear image of what truly fulfills you and gives you purpose, and whether you are working to materialize it from the inside out.
• Where am I sacrificing my authenticity to meet external expectations?
Reflect on whether there are areas of your life where you have compromised your true character in order to fit in or please others.
• What inner passions am I ignoring or repressing?
Think about whether there is something that you are deeply excited about but that you have not prioritized in order to focus on more tangible or practical objectives.
• What can I do to strengthen my conviction and perseverance?
Recognize the external obstacles you face and reflect on how to develop the inner confidence needed to sustain your long-term goals.
• Am I allowing my vision to guide my path to a more aligned life?
Explore whether you are giving your imagination room to visualize new possibilities and trust them as a basis for your future decisions.
This New Moon is the Opportunity to:
• Focus on yourself and what excites you
Take time to connect with what ignites your inner passion. Reflect on what truly motivates you and gives you vitality, leaving aside external expectations and fear of what others will say.
• Redefining what success means to you
Use this moment to explore whether your idea of success is aligned with your deepest values and aspirations. It’s an opportunity to build an authentic vision that comes from within.
• Develop conviction in your internal goals
Allow yourself to strengthen that inner confidence that drives you forward, even when external circumstances do not seem favorable. Persistence in what truly matters will give you stability and purpose.
• Reconnect with your imagination and creativity
This lunation invites you to visualize new possibilities. Use your imagination as a powerful tool to design a life more aligned with your personal desires and values.
• Letting go of the dependence on the tangible as a measure of success
Reflect on whether you have been clinging too much to external outcomes and consider how you can find fulfillment and abundance in your internal connection, rather than seeking it in what others define as success.
• Manifest your aspirations with patience and determination
Remember that great transformations take time. Now is the time to start building, from within, the foundations of your dreams with authenticity and commitment.
• Using limitations as an impetus for your growth
Use external challenges as a reminder that your true power lies in your ability to adapt, persist, and build a reality based on your inner values.

La Casa 8 Astrología:
😀
Hola Pia.
En mi carta natal tengo a Plutón en el 7* 58” y el sol en 11*18”. Algún tip que me pueda servir?
