"There is as much wisdom in listening as there is in speaking - and that applies to all relationships, not just romantic ones."
-Daniel Dae Kim
This June 6, 2024, we will have a New Moon in Gemini, occurring at 16°17' of the sign. Also in Gemini at this time we have Jupiter transiting (planet of expansion and abundance of all kinds), so anything that helps us connect with the Gemini energy will also help us manifest abundance and enter a mental state of optimism. Without further ado, let's see how to use these energies to our benefit.
The New Moon and Manifestation
During the New Moon phase, the Sun and the Moon are in exact conjunction. That is, there is a 0° angle of distance between them. The New Moon phase is a powerful time for the manifestation of goals and desires, as it symbolizes a new beginning and the opportunity to plant intentions. During this phase, the Moon is completely dark and there is little visibility, which represents a metaphor for having to make our way through courage and when there are no certainties of any kind. Our instinct and our ability to visualize are what will shape the outcome of our aspirations, taking advantage of the renewing energy of the New Moon to plant seeds that will grow and develop as the Moon advances in its cycle, leading our dreams towards manifestation.
A New Moon is the opportune moment for:
- Plant the seeds of our future dreams.
- A blank canvas on which to begin visualizing.
- Singleness of purpose, focus.
This lunation occurs at 16°17' Gemini, connecting us to internal dialogue, curiosity, and ideas that stimulate our curiosity. When planets transit Gemini, they invite us to communicate what we truly value (as opposed to acting as messengers for others' ideas). By expressing and discussing our ideas with others, we not only sort them out, but also refine our thinking. Added to this is the fact that this New Moon is conjunct Venus and close to Mercury - both in Gemini - further highlighting the importance of communication and personal values in our relationships.

Venus-Saturn Square: A Heartfelt Reflection on Love and Communication
However, this New Moon faces a challenge: a square of the Sun, Moon and Venus with Saturn in Pisces. Squares are aspects that generate tension (and therefore require resolution and integration), and Saturn is associated with lessons of maturity, responsibility, managing limitations and blockages, and the passage of time. Thus, this square calls us to take responsibility for how we communicate in our relationships. It is a time to reflect on when we have not been flexible enough and to recognize the crucial role that communication plays in our relationships. Although it suggests new beginnings, it also invites us to look back and take responsibility for what has happened in our previous relationships. It challenges us to overcome limitations in communication, to better understand and negotiate our differences in values. The energy of Gemini teaches us that intellectual connection and transparency in communication is vital and can often determine the success or failure of a relationship.
Sabian Symbol: Gemini 17
The Sabian symbol in which this New Moon occurs is Gemini 17: "The head of health dissolving into the head of mentality." There are many Sabian symbols that show us right away what they are about, but there are others - like this one - that are much more enigmatic.
Gemini 17 refers to a crucial transition in human consciousness. The “head of health” alludes to a state of awareness based on knowledge that comes from being in direct contact with our body and our physical needs, something common in youth and adolescence. At this stage, the focus is on meeting immediate needs such as hunger and sleep, reflecting a focus on oneself.
On the other hand, the "mentality head" denotes a more mature mind that goes beyond physical and personal needs, encompassing reasoning and consideration of others. The dissolution of the health head into the mentality head suggests a transition from the egocentric and physical focus to a broader and more rational awareness that takes into account both one's own well-being and that of others. This symbol can be interpreted as a call to evolve towards a more balanced mindset.
It is better to take responsibility now rather than later
Everything in this lunation (Sabian symbol, conjunction with Venus, square with Saturn) indicates that it is time to take responsibility and use our rational mind, in order to see more clearly what is happening in our relationships. Learning to listen to others, to be open to new ideas and not to be blocked by different perspectives is fundamental at this stage, since it implies ceasing to select only what validates our ego and self-concept. The square with Saturn in Pisces adds an element of challenge, reminding us of the importance of integrating this new mentality in a disciplined and realistic way, and to stop seeing "what we want to see."
So, this New Moon reminds us that if there are communication issues that we need to resolve, they will not fix themselves. Now is the time when we must face and overcome restrictions or fears that may arise during this transformation process. If we do so, let us remember that Saturn always makes us reap what we sow: our reward will come.

Need More? This Exercise Is Foolproof For Removing Blockages
Find a quiet place where you can relax without distractions. Sit comfortably and take several deep breaths, allowing each inhalation and exhalation to calm and center you.
Now, choose a video of a person whose communication style irritates you or with whom you feel you have nothing in common. This can be a public figure or someone you meet in your everyday life. Open the video and set the intention to watch with an open, calm, and respectful mind.
As you watch the video, carefully observe how this person communicates. As you do so, try to put yourself in their shoes. Ask yourself:
- What emotion might this person be feeling?
- What experiences have shaped your way of communicating?
- Why do you choose these words and this tone?
- What is the logic behind your thinking and your expressions?
Keep your emotions calm, observing without judging. Imagine that you are exploring their inner world, seeking to understand the root of their thoughts and behaviors. Try to find a point of empathy, a human connection that allows you to see beyond superficial differences.
Allow yourself to contemplate with respect and detachment, appreciating the diversity of thoughts and communication styles. Repeat this exercise regularly to foster a more open and empathetic mind, strengthening your relationships and personal growth.
This exercise can also be applied in your everyday life. Observe the people you interact with, especially those with whom you find differences. Ask yourself the same questions, trying to understand their perspective and logic.
At the end of the video, take a few more deep breaths, allowing calm and understanding to fill your mind. When you feel ready, return to your surroundings with a renewed perspective and an open heart.
